Me Met Demigods (Part 1)

I could tell you thousand times that it is the most bored day of my life. Okay, I can't find interesting in me. I have bored life every day. But as a normal student, a class full of uncool friends around and blabber teacher in front of your class, you must agree with me. Your life wouldn't ever interesting in a place like this.
And this is thousand more times I blinked my eyes. Tried to focus on the whiteboard which is full of number and words I couldn't read. I thought I was Dyslexia but it seemed impossible when you're trying to open your eyes in such effort. Yeah, I know, it wasn't Dyslexia or anything but I'm to sleepy to pay any attention. I know I couldn't sleep in class so I decided keep my eyes open as long as I could. I brought out my notes and pulled out a pencil. I doodled something on it but it's hard because there's no inspiration to draw.
I turned around and looked all over the room. Trying to get an inspiration until I saw my friend next to me who held a pen. I couldn't see what he is writing but I don't even care. I just noticed his pen which remind me of a magic pen called Riptide. Have you ever heard it? It's not an usual pen. It's magic because the pen could turn to a celestial bronze sword. Nobody has it but Percy Jackson. Oh god, I still couldn't believe I've just finished the latest book, The Son of Neptune. I almost cried I could read another adventure of him finally. I thought the series had done but Rick Riordan, the best, clever, and genius author ever, created another series of him.
I found myself smiling to the pen then I have a good idea. I started to doodled a draw Percy Jackson is fighting against monsters. He sliced all of monsters bravely by his Riptide. I looked at the draw. There's something I needed to complete it. After minutes I decided to draw Annabeth also fighting by his side. She looks so casual as always with her Yankee cap on. Both of them killed all monsters bravely. In the end I drew a building behind them. I didn't know why because I picked the place randomly and what I do is just keep drawing a tall building. I know it is ridiculous fighting monsters in front of a great building that must be full of mortals but I don't really care.
I looked at it proudly but after minutes I felt my head spinning around longer I looked at it. I tried to turn around but I can't and I have no idea why. Slowly I felt myself full of weakness. It seemed like I have no skeleton in me. Then my eyes are getting dark. I blinked twice and more to make sure that I have not been dreaming. It was strange because I'm standing in front of great building and I don't know how could I get here for sure. In front of me, a lot of people running back and forth, screaming out loud. I could say they face are scared with something. I want to run too but my feet couldn't move.
Behind me there sounds like hitting and attacking by metals. I was fear myself to turn around to figured out what the hell is going on. I saw first was a very good looking guy with jet black hair and sea green eyes raised his sword over monsters. Bunch of monsters. Dozen more were attacking him and a girl with blond curly hair that pulled carelessly into ponytail who I known best named Annabeth. She tried to stabbing them hardly. I'm sure she must did it with effort because I could see sweat on her forehead. I must be scared but I didn't know why my feet keep moving towards them. Now I'm just inches far away from the battlefield. I stepped around them.
Once again Percy thrust his sword to a monster and turned it into ashes. The last one tried to run from them. It came forward and I'm sure it's just coming to me because I could see its teeth which sharp enough to swallow me with just once chewed. I swallowed and defenseless whatever happened. I closed my eyes waiting for the monster to crushing on me but I could see a glimpse of it had burnt and turned to ashes like the others. Behind it I saw my real superhero standing breathlessly with his celestial bronze sword over his chest. I know he would save my life. I want to run after him but he held his sword over me.
"What are you doing here, mortal?" He asked still breathlessly. I could see he was hardly exhaled and inhaled.
"I'm just... I don't know. I just too surprised to see the battle of you then I couldn't let my feet go," I answered but I think they wouldn't believe me because Annabeth came closer and frowned at me.
"It couldn't be. You are a mortal. The Mist should be hiding it from you," she said.
I shrugged. "I don't know. Yeah, it should be but I saw everything. You two fought with those monsters. You guys were so awesome!"
"You are mortal, aren't you? How could you do that?"
"I said I didn't know. Maybe I could see through the Mist. What's the matter? Rachel could do it too, right?" I said proudly. I wanted to step closer but a cold knife was pressed to my chin. It's Annabeth's.
"Who are you? How do you know Rachel?"
I wanted to say ‘of course I know you all. The books of you are the best seller all over the world and how could I don't know you.’ But they seemed will not understand. I think they didn't even know they are famous. So I tried to find another reason.
"I'm Risma," I said doubted. “I think I could see through the Mist.” I felt my throat is getting dry with afraid.
There’s long quite and I was waiting her to press his sword deeper on my chin instead she said, “Are you a demigod?”
If the situation was not this awkward, I wanted to say yes but I know it’s impossible. I shook my head quickly. “No… I mean it wouldn’t be. I mean I know who they are. My parents are mortal as I am.” I tried to put certain words and I think it worked.
“Where do you from?” she asked again. I’m glad she left the doubt on her face but I wished she stop asking and let Percy say something.
“I’m not from here. I was from a tropic island in south east Asia. I’m definitely from Indonesia. It’s thousands miles far away from here,” I said clearly.
She frowned again unbelievable. “And how could you get here?”
I shrugged again. “I completely didn’t have an idea.”
“I think she’s amnesia,” Percy told her.
My eyes widen as I surprised of what he had said. “No, no. it’s not something like that. I mean I know I just said I didn’t know how can I get here but I’m not amnesia like you’ve ever felt. No offense, but I’m sure I was in the middle of boring class and I doddled a draw and I forgot why it could bring me so far to here.”
Annabeth still with her unbelievable face and Percy looked at me like he wanted to say ‘you’ve just reminded me of my bad days and I really want to stab you right now’. I don’t know what more I can say except waiting their response.
“Let me clear this,” Annabeth said at last. “You are not a demigod, you could see through the Mist, you didn’t even know how you could get here. Are you a spy of Gaea? Tell me who is your patron?!” She came after me ready to beat me up with her knife but Percy stopped her. I know he is always be my number one hero.
“Hey, wait up! Listen to me. I have no patron. Can’t you see I am just a harmless person who trapped in a bad situation. I don’t even know how I can get back to my normal place. And I could see through the Mist but I’m not dangerous. You can trust me,” I said clearly wishing they will believe me. After waited few minutes I think they did.
“Whoever you are, just get back and stay away from this place. It could be more dangerous for a mortal like you,” she said finally. “Let’s go, Percy.” They were ready to go but I have to prevented the.
“Where are you going?” I said loudly. It worked. They stopped their step and turned around. “Are you two going to leave me here? How mean you are. I don’t have directions to go and you just left me behind?”
“What can we do for you?” Annabeth said.
“Save my life from the enemies, of course.” I said with all of honors.
They have a certain view each other then stared at me. “We can’t. It will be very dangerous if you go with us.”
“Of course you can. Just let me join you to Camp Half-Blood” I said with delight.
“You can’t. You are a mortal. Camp Half-Blood is not for a mortal child like you.” She just declined my wish but I wouldn’t give up.
“But Rachel could enter there. If she can then I can too.”
“She’s right. We must save her or she would be a target of those enemies out there.” Percy said finally. In this moment I really wanted to hug him tightly.
“But…” Annabeth’s words cut by Percy.
“It’s okay. Believe me we all will save,” he reassured his girlfriend by get her with his sparkling sea green eyes. I was so envy and wished I have a dagger to put on her.
Annabeth nodded to him and reach his hand. “Come on, we don’t have much times.” They ran forward. Percy gave a glance at me that I got to follow them.
After miles ran then I felt so exhausted. I’d never ran so fast and far like this. I inhaled hardly. Tried to get air as much as my lungs need but I was still dying breathlessly behind them. I described Annabeth was 180cm more and Percy’s higher inches than her. I could say I’m half of them. Their legs are long compared to mine which was not reach 160cm. imagined how suck I am.
I stopped directly to get air. “Wait…” I said with much effort. “I think… I… can’t do this… anymore.”
They turned around and found me far from their spot. I could see Percy sighed and ran towards me. They pulled my hand and said, “It’s okay, we are getting reinforcement ahead. Just stay breath and survived, okay?”
I looked up and I could see his deep sea green eyes stared at me with worried. I forced smile and nodded. “As long as I am with you I will alright, right?” he smiled back and pulled my hand. I was sure I would be fainting right away.
We started run again. Now, I’m better with Percy’s hand holding mine. It made me ran faster than before. Fortunately Annabeth didn’t pay attention to us. God must bless me all this time. I enjoyed this run away till I realized Annabeth suddenly stopped before I could pull out my steps. Without any effort I successfully crashed Percy’s body. He quickly helped me out before I fall on the ground.
“Sorry,” I said to him instead my heart’s screaming delightfully. He’s such a hero. Okay, I know he’s hero indeed. He’s a demigod so he must be a hero for everybody. But he had saved my life quite often since we met times ago. I’m not cheating. Maybe a little but who’s mad? I think it’s okay as long as Annabeth didn’t notice.
In front of me, there’s a chariot which pulled by a girl riding a beautiful horse. Her curly cinnamon-brown hair falls perfectly around her shoulder. Her dark skin made me known her must be one of The Seven Demigods, Hazel. The horse looked so impatient to be ride again. I bet it must be Arion.
“Are you okay?” she asked with worried in her words.
“Yeah, we are okay,” Annabeth confirmed. In the meantime a huge eagle landed and it reformed to a bulky boy with baby-cheek face and black military haircut before he got to the ground.
“Wow, that’s a beast,” I compliment him. I could tell you that’s a truth compliment.
He stared at me and said, “Yeah, that’s me. A beast. So, did I miss something?”
“You missed everything,” Percy said. “There was chaos. Monsters were attacking while mortals tried to hiding and avoiding us. I always wonder what it looks like.” He said with a smile on his lips. It made me had to hold myself not to do something crazy on him.
“Sorry, we got distraction in the middle of our way to get in here. At least all of you survived, right?” Frank said.
“Yes, but we figured out this girl…” Annabeth pointed on me. Her face so hard made me scared and pulled my hand from Percy’s rudely. “could see the battle through the Mist. Whatever it means, we have to save her before Gaea’s squad find out and use her for anything dangerous.”
“Okay, we could bring her to the camp, right? Chiron must be happy to greet her. Let’s get into the chariot.” Hazel said gladly.
Percy, Annabeth and I get in hurriedly but Frank still stood awkward on his own.
“Hey, what happened, dude? We’re ready for a harsh ride,” Percy said to him. Arion whinnied. I think it must be a compliment to him. But who knows before Percy translated it.
“Ugh, I think I better get going with the eagle. We can say there’s no enough space to me on the chariot. It’s okay, just go ahead. I got the wings,” he smirked clumsy.
Percy knit his eyebrows and said, “I bet he love being a beast so much. Hazel, go!”
I managed not to laugh remember Frank had a worse experience riding with Arion. I know it wouldn’t be a good trip so I hold on to the chariot tightly. Wishing I could arrived in the camp safely. As I know in the Son of Neptune, Arion had ride very fast. Ella once muttered: “Seven hundred and fifty miles per hour. Eight hundred. Eight hundred and three. Fast. Very fast.” Now I could feel what Frank felt. This is a worse trip which you were once riding across New York City but you couldn’t even capture a glimpse of the landscape. That’s sucks!
I turned around to Annabeth who sat next to me. I was wanting to sat next to Percy but Annabeth had got the seat so I decided not to complain. “May I ask something?” I asked her loudly because the speed has drowned my voice.
Annabeth turned around and nodded. “Yes, about what?”
I keep my voice hearable as I said, “It was Empire State Building, isn’t it? The entrance of Olympus.”
“Yes,” she said.
“I couldn’t believe they had been gone for that long. Has the war begun?”
“No, they’re just teasing us. They wouldn’t reach the building as long as the legion keeps it safe. Besides, the shelter of the building is strong enough from a little attack. The gods have blesses it with their power.”
My heart beats faster when I remember the battle I just seen. It has already scared me and they said it’s just a little attacked? I can’t imagine how it can be with a great war. I’m sure I couldn’t stand it.
The horse began slowly. I could see the famous hill of Camp Half-Blood just miles away from us. Thalia’s Pine was there too. Stood tall at the top of the hill. I could feel the magical power as we riding through it. It must be so strong. Now, here I am. Sitting on the chariot which pulled by the fastest horse thru the gate of Camp Half-Blood, the most place I wanted to visit. I didn’t ever imagine I could reach this place. I could see what I used to imagine, the beautiful camp ever, as far as I could see in front of me. I have dreamt this place all the time and it feels so good to not dreaming it anymore. The dream came true!
I could felt my body was cold and shaking just before I hopped off the chariot. It was 12:00 AM so the campers were winged horseback riding. Cool!
“Welcome back, kids!”
I turned around and saw An old man with thinning brown hair, bushy eyebrows, intense brown eyes and a scruffy beard. That’s from waist up. He’s a white centaur from waist down. All I could say is amazing. Finally, I could met the amazing centaur ever who trained much heroes thousand years. Decide how old he is by your own.
“Hi, Sir. Nice to meet you,” I said to him with awe.
“Hello, girl. Nice to meet you too. And welcome to our camp,” he said. He wasn’t asking a single question to me. I bet he already knew everything.
“How was your day?” he asked to the others.
“Terrible,” Annabeth answered. “the Earthborn attacked us in front of The Empire State Building. How poor mortals, they must be scared by The Mist.”
“Okay then, just relax. We had a quick meeting at noon. And you, little girl,” he said to me. “you could take a rest in the big house. Have a nice day, kids.”
He went to the big house and left us behind. I saw Frank in a beast eagle form had just landed and turned to his normal form again. They all seemed exhausted. Hazel ride Arion through with Frank accompanied her. Percy ran to his cabin, Poseidon cabin, right away to take a rest. Left me with Annabeth alone who stand awkward side by side.
“Hey,” I said hesitate to her. “want to give me a guidance? Of course, if you have some spare time.”
“Sure, let’s go,” he said with pleasant.
We walked through the Big House to the demigods cabin, take a look on the canoe lake, amphitheater, arena, or even strawberry fields. She explained to me whenever we stopped at a spot. But I got all the camp. She narrowed eyes on me wonder why I seemed to know everything even without her told.
“How could you seem to know everything?”
“I know a little about this camp,” I said without hesitate.
“No, you shouldn’t know. No mortal have known about this camp. We were hidden by the Mist. Even who could see through the Mist,” she convinced me.
“Yeah, umm… actually, I learn a lot about it,” I said doubted.
“What? You learnt about our camp? Where? Your mortal school? Oh my god, don’t tell me, you are a real spy,” she said with full of surprised.
At this moment I’m not sure what I have to say to her. “How can I explain it to you? I wasn’t a spy. Okay, I sneak a peek sometimes but I’m not a spy. And I don’t have a patron. I patron myself. And I have a solid reason to explain but it’s hard to say.”
“Okay, you don’t have to tell me. I’m not sure I want to hear more about you.”
“Thanks for not push me. You help so much.” I said relieved.
We walked again to another spot. I still got amazing with all of here. This is more awesome than I’ve ever imagined. She didn’t explain anymore. It made me a little awkward. I should pretend not to know anything before. Now, I regretted it. So, I tried to start a conversation with her.
“So, how about your relationship with your boyfriend, Percy.” I said awkwardly.
She turned around with curious face like she wondered why I even know her relationship but she ignored it. “Yeah, fine. It’s great to see him again after we were separated eight long months. And the most important is he is okay. Although he was amnesia but he still remembered me and all we’ve been through.”
She sighed. I could say her face was so tired but he got a sweet smile when she explained it. I also felt relief to know they are get back again. No jealousy at all. I smiled too and said, “Yeah, I’m happy too. Do you know you were the only one who he remembered when Hera… or Juno, whatever, took his memory. I think that’s so sweet. He tried very hard not to lose you even he knew his memory fade away time by time.”
“Really?” she knit her eyebrows. I could see her expression was telling me ‘how dare you are, spied my boyfriend’ but I caught delight in her face.
“Yup, believe me. I know him… ups, I mean I didn’t know him but I know his feeling,” I explained. There’s a panic intonation on my words. I know she would ask me about this.
“What do you mean about you don’t know him but you know him. I don’t understand. Why you are seems to know everything about us. Oh my god, are you a god?”
“No, no… ugh, forget it. Hey, do you remember the first day you met him? You said he drool when he sleeps. And the first time you were dating. Underwater, the best kiss ever, right? Oh my god, I’m envy. Like seriously you make me envy. I wish Aphrodite give me a sweet guy like him.” I stopped blabbering when I found out her frowning at me. I believe if I keep talking all the way she would ready to rise her knife on me.
“Do you like my boyfriend?” she said curiously.
“Yes, I’m sorry but I have big crush on him. Annabeth, did you know thousand girls out there had a crush on your boyfriend. He’s amazing, no wonder we are dying love him. You’re so lucky had him beside you,” I said desperately.
“Wait, I don’t understand what do you mean thousand girls wanting my boyfriend? How do they know about us? Oh well, more spies. I can’t believe we are spied,” she said frustrated.
“No, Annabeth, I know it will hard for you to believe but you all were in books. Best seller books. You can find them in book stores. Believe it or not, you all are famous. All of you are heroes for us.”
“What? Mortals knowing our life? It would be too dangerous to us. Who created books about us without permission? I will kill him if I know.” She pulled out her knife.
“It is Rick Riordan who created best seller books of you. Your adventured with Percy. We love it so much. We are not dangerous and you don’t have to kill him. Actually, he is the author. He created you. All of you.”
“Who created us?”
“Umm, no… well, just forget it. By the way, they filmed your story years ago. that’s amazing eventhough the movie was not alike the real story but worth tried. The actor who acted as Percy named Logan Lerman. He’s cute, you know.”
Annabeth chuckled and said, “Okay, that’s ridiculous. We have a movie and the actor of Percy was cute? Nobody wanted to be my Seawed Brain.”
“Of course they do. And you, they got an actress to role as you. Her name is Alexandra Daddario. I pulled out my Blackberry and showed her the picture of Alexandra. “It’s her. She’s beautiful, isn’t she?”
She narrowed her eyes. “She didn’t even look like me. I don’t have brown hair and blue eyes like her. Can’t you see? We are different.”
“Yeah, but… okay, don’t protest me. I didn’t direct the film.” I said annoyed. “So, I can’t wait for tonight. Can I join the sing-a-long and bonfire? That would be incredible.” I wished she forget about the actress of her who-didn’t-look-alike-her.
“Sure, just prepared. I got to go, we have a quick meeting now. See you tonight.” She waved hand and went away. Leave me alone near the woods.
