The Real Hero

Morning, I'm glad this is my first post in 2012. And you know, this isn't a random post like I usually do
This post will have a topic, indeed. What topic I would like to tell is all about my real hero Percy Jackson.
My heart skips a beat everytime I hear or think about the name. OMG, I'm so proud of Rick Riordan making an epic fiction character like him.
I adore him since I have the first book (actually, my bro bought it) by early last year.
Idk, he was going to buy a novel to bring to his pesantren (I don't know what pesantren in English --") and he decided to buy Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. The first series of all.
In the first time I didn't know what to do with that book. I mean I persuaded him to buy the book just because we were too long in Gramedia and he still confused what to buy.
Just skip the part, we were home with the book. After that, he brought it to the school and I swear I'd never thought about it till he came and brought the book home.
I saw the book with full of pain because the cover was sooo messed up. They read it hand to hand and I thought the whole student of the school have read it.
I tell you a fact. I don't like my stuff is lent, especially books or magz, and back home with damaged on it. I swear I won't doubt to punch and kick 'em who dare to bullied my stuff!
That's annoying you know. You gotta respect others's stuff -_____-
Bact to the top, yeah, I got it with surprised seeing the cover. And I don't know, I just read it and it was interisting more than I could tell.
I've watched the movie and I felt a lil disappointed. Excpet the character which was played by the cute Logan Lerman, it wasn't satisfied.
It wasn't as epic as the books. All of fans must be disappointed of it. But it's okay, you can't blame because Logan Lerman was so cute and it was still not balanced with the brave. How can be a cute guy like him battle monsters --"
I told you, idk I'd never imagined Logan Lerman when I'm reading the book. He's not as cute as Logan but he looks waay cool, brave and gentle than Logan ;)
You can see after reading it I'm kinda obsessed with this kid. I got my last book in the mid of the year. I told ya I would never get enough of him :*

For who doesn't know about him I'll tell ya bit.
At the start of the first series, Percy is introduced as a troubled twelve-year-old diagnosed with both ADHD and dyslexic. After getting attacked at school, he is escorted to Camp Half-Blood, a secret camp built to train and protect Greek demigods.
At camp, Percy learns that his father is Poseidon, the god of the sea, and is thus a child mentioned in the Great Prophecy, a prophecy that was given by the Oracle seventy years ago. Throughout the series, Percy embarks on several quests to save his friends and the Olympian gods of Mount Olympus.
Anyway, Percy has dark haired and sea-green eyes wich is very attracted :P. For more info read here
He had a sword named Riptide which could turn to a pen form. It's automatically back to his pocket whenever it lost.
The books actually have five seasons. first, the lightning thief, the sea of monsters, the Titan's curse, the battle of the labyrinth and the last Olympian.
But there's additional series named Heroes Of Olympians which is not just involved Percy but the others demigod heroes.

It has three books. The lost hero, the son of neptune and the last The mark of athena which will released in fall 2012. Can't wait for it XD
Here, the main character are seven heroes that include in The Great Prophecy as The Seven Demigods. They are Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Jason Grace, Piper McLean, Leo Valdez, Hazel Lavesque and Frank Zhang.
The Greeks met Romans wich is enemies in the past. But the fate had told them to works together to defeat the mother nature, Gaea, who would rise from the earth and fight for Gods and demigods by her sons, the giants.

I just finished the two books. Actually I read the ebooks I've told ya -__-
The different between those series is Percy wasn't appear as the narrator of himself. The books used The third perspective.
I can tell I'm a lil disappointed Percy wasn't the main character anymore. He still with his joke but in limited pages. He have to shared the books with two others character in The Son Of Neptune.
And here, there were much of weaknesses of Percy that I've never seen it before in The Percy Jackson Series. He seemed need many helps of his frend.
We all know from first and the last series Percy have handed many quests of himself without much helped from the others. Okay maybe they did but not as much as in this book. Percy used to strenghtful. He's the son of Poseidon. The biggest three. Oh c'mon, he can handle anything!
He can defeated by any monsters and had some tricks on his own. I can't get it as I expected in this book. Still I adore him the most.

And I don't really like Gods in their Roman form. They have more serious personal character. Not like Greeks that more cool and chill.
I don't like Percy's called as The Son Of Neptune not Poseidon. He's not Roman at all. The other reasons is it's hard to remember the names of Roman.
But at least this book have amused me so much. I still can't get enough of it. and I wish I could buy them all.

The last, I'll show you some of my favorite conversations or words in The Son of Neptune.
Here they are...

“Is he dangerous?” she asked.
Nico managed a dry smile. “Very. To his enemies. But he’s not a
threat to Camp Jupiter. You can trust him.”

“The point is, Percy, you are the real power on this quest. You are a
seasoned veteran. I’ve seen what you can do. A son of Neptune wouldn’t
be my first choice, but if you return successfully from this mission, the
legion might be saved. The praetorship will be yours for the taking.
Together, you and I could expand the power of Rome. We could raise an
army and find the Doors of Death, crush Gaea’s forces once and for all.
You would find me a very helpful…friend.”
She said that word like it could have several meanings, and he could
pick which one.
Percy’s feet started tapping on the floor, anxious to run. “Reyna…I’m
honored, and all. Seriously. But I’ve got a girlfriend. And I don’t want power,
or a praetorship.”

“You’ll be fine,” he promised. “You’ll have friends this time. Percy
Jackson—he’s got a role to play in this. You can sense that, can’t you?
He’s a good person to have at your side.”

Percy’s jaw tightened. “I don’t know how a son of Neptune can drown. I
can breathe underwater. But the crown of the legion—”

The battlefield descended into absolute chaos. Amazon and Roman
lines swung toward the enemy like the Doors of Death themselves.
But Percy had only one goal. He pointed at the giant.
“You. Me. To the finish.”

“Mom,” he said. “Hey, I’m alive. Hera put me to sleep for a while, and
then she took my memory, and…” His voice faltered. How he could
possibly explain all this? “Anyway, I’m okay. I’m sorry. I’m on a quest—” He
winced. He shouldn’t have said that. His mom knew all about quests, and
now she’d be worried. “I’ll make it home. I promise. Love you.”

And this one...my, my, I’ve been waiting to meet the
famous Percy Jackson.”
The giant grinned. His silver teeth made his mouth look like a car
grille.
“I’ve followed your progress, son of Neptune,” said Alcyoneus. “Your
fight with Kronos? Well done. Gaea hates you above all others…except
perhaps for that upstart Jason Grace.

Percy remembered
everything: the war with Kronos, his sixteenth birthday at Camp Half-Blood,
his trainer Chiron the centaur, his best friend Grover, his brother Tyson,
and most of all Annabeth—two great months of dating, and then BOOM.
He’d been abducted by the alien known as Hera. Or Juno…whatever.

“And he got that gift from Poseidon,” Percy said. “That’s completely
unfair. I can’t turn into animals.”
Frank stared at him. “Unfair? You can breathe underwater and blow up
glaciers and summon freaking hurricanes—and it’s unfair that I can be an
elephant?”
Percy considered. “Okay. I guess you got a point. But next time I say
you’re totally beast—”

“But first—you said you were weak.
That’s not true. You want to know why Juno spared you, Frank? Why that
piece of wood didn’t burn yet?
It’s because you’ve got a role to play. You think you’re not as good as
the other Romans. You think Percy Jackson is better than you.”
“He is,” Frank grumbled. “He battled you and won.”
Mars shrugged. “Maybe. Maybe so. But every hero has a fatal flaw.
Percy Jackson? He’s too loyal to his friends. He can’t give them up, not for
anything. He was told that, years ago. And someday soon, he’s going to
face a sacrifice he can’t make.

That
was the downside of dating the smartest girl at camp: You learn stuff.

“Your prison? You were in prison and they let you out?”
“Don’t sound so surprised, dear! I’m a sweet old woman. At any rate,
you weren’t needed at Camp Jupiter until now, to save the Romans at their
moment of greatest crisis. The eight months between…well, I do have
other plans brewing, my boy. Opposing Gaea, working behind Jupiter’s
back, protecting your friends—it’s a full-time job! If I had to guard you from
Gaea’s monsters and schemes as well, and keep you hidden from your
friends back east all that time—no, much better you take a safe nap. You
would have been a distraction—a loose cannon.”
“A distraction.” Percy felt the water rising with his anger, spinning
faster around him. “A loose cannon.”
“Exactly. I’m glad you understand.”
Percy sent a wave crashing down on the old woman, but Juno simply
disappeared and materialized farther down the shore.
“My,” she said, “you are in a bad mood. But you know I’m right. Your
timing here was perfect. They trust you now. You are a hero of Rome. And
while you slept, Jason Grace has learned to trust the Greeks. They’ve had
time to build the Argo II. Together, you and Jason will unite the camps.”
“Why me?” Percy demanded. “You and I never got along. Why would
you want a loose cannon on your team?”
“Because I know you, Percy Jackson. In many ways, you are impulsive,
but when it comes to your friends, you are as constant as a compass
needle. You are unswervingly loyal, and you inspire loyalty. You are the glue
that will unite the seven.”
“Great,” Percy said. “I always wanted to be glue.”
Juno laced her crooked fingers. “The Heroes of Olympus must unite!
After your victory over Kronos in Manhattan…well, I fear that wounded
Jupiter’s self-esteem.”
“Because I was right,” Percy said. “And he was wrong.”

Anyway there's a character named Reyna. She's a preator of Camp Jupiter. I don't like her because he tried to cheat with Percy. But Percy told her he has a girlfriend. Lol, that's my boy :*

Okay, enough for this post. Oh, I got some picts from deviantArt which are my favorite. Check them out:

Thanks for reading. Have a blast day and God bless yall. Enjoy! :)
